There are three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school in the Ashe County school system. The Ashe County High School was built recently and is a state of the art facility boasting all of the amenities of a school in a larger area. In addition to the 5 other schools, Ashe County also has an alternative high school for students who have had behavioral problems in the past. Here, students are given more attention and remediation if needed, and life skills are also emphasized.
